'Trouser Girl' was an opera for children and young adults, produced by the Manoel Theatre for the 10th anniversary of the Ziguzajg theatre festival. I was entrusted with the design of the entire production – costumes and set. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the festival could not be a live event, so it was decided that it would be filmed and streamed in November.

It was written in the style of a superhero cartoon/comic book, with lyrics from well-known arias from operas, rewritten to tie into the script.

I designed the costumes accordingly in a two-dimensional style using primary colours while some of the costumes were actually painted boards that the actors stood behind.

I produced digital illustrations for the backdrops which were included at post-production stage.
